You may be eligible for a PGWP if:

 You completed a program of study

  • At a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)

  • Program length: minimum 8 months

  • Program must lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate.

    Your study was full-time

Except during the final semester or authorized breaks.

 You maintained valid status as a student

Including study permit compliance.

You apply within required timelines

PGWP applications must be submitted within 180 days (6 months) after you:

  • Get your final marks

PGWP Validity – How Long Will My PGWP Be Valid?

Your PGWP validity depends on the length of your study program:

  • Program 8 months – 2 years: PGWP valid for same duration
  • Program 2 years or more: PGWP valid for up to 3 years

  • Multiple programs: Combined duration may be counted

PGWPs are issued only once in a lifetime.
